TAKE PART
ELIGIBILITY &
GENERAL TERMS
BREEZE is open for the participation of any galleries who are members of ABACT (the Brazilian Association of Contemporary Art). If you are an individual practitioner or an organisation of any kind, we strongly encourage you to contact any of the eligible galleries to try and submit a proposal in association with them (please mind the fact that an ABACT-member gallery must always be the main applicant).
Each application must present a proposal for a group show or solo exhibition, with no restrictions on themes and formats – we welcome paintings, sculptures, mixed media, performances, installations, videos, photography etc. – as long as the applicants can deliver as specified in their submission.
The winning proposal will be chosen by an international jury of guest curators and cultural actors, and materialise as an exhibition to be held throughout October 2024 at Sala Brasil (the Embassy of Brazil's main cultural space in London), without any charge for the use of the gallery and facilities, alongside a financial support of GBP 8,000 (eight thousand pounds sterling) in total*.
The winning gallery will be responsible for delivering the selected project as described in their application. In addition to a prime-location 250 square metres gallery and the aforementioned support, BREEZE will provide: international communications services by a specialised PR agency; maximum visibility in any advertisement published by the organisers; organisation and management of social, educational and promotional events held in the premises. Should the winning gallery require, design services (of exhibition signage and comms material) and administrative assistance to artwork logistics will also be available, free of charge.
Please read the TERMS AND CONDITIONS (AGREEMENT) document for important information. Also, to help you with your proposal, an informative sheet regarding Sala Brasil (featuring dimensions, floor plans, illustrative pictures etc.) is available HERE.**
*Consisting of a GBP 4,000 prize paid by the Embassy of Brazil directly to the gallery, and a GBP 4,000 production grant offered by ABACT/Latitude to cover expenses of exhibition assembly and disassembly (as regulated by the 'Contrato de Parceria' document to be shared by ABACT/Projeto Latitude with the selected gallery).
** An editable 3-D floor plan of Sala Brasil (on SketchUp) is available upon request.
